Founded in 2017, Parastoo Theatre is an Afghan refugee theatre collective that was formed to use theatre to empower Afghan and other refugee communities and heal them using storytelling, theatre, and the arts.
Together with Instant Café Theatre, Parastoo is staging a play that highlights the social issues of child marriage and the refugee crisis. The play hopes to bridge divides, build understanding, raise awareness, and create spaces where difficult social issues can be addressed through creative expression and dialogue.
By supporting And Then Came Spring, you will help uplift refugee communities whilst encouraging and empowering them to share their artistic heritage and add to Malaysia’s rich multicultural melting pot.
Every penny raised will go to helping those in the Parastoo Theatre refugee community for their project And Then Came Spring. Any funds in excess of the target will be channelled towards Parastoo for opening their own Refugee Arts Centre later this year.
Every little counts, and we are so grateful for anything you can share.
